Five bonus terms that quietly cost you money

Bonus disputes almost never turn on whether you won. They turn on a clause you agreed to when you clicked claim.

The five clauses

  1. Maximum bet while wagering - usually 5. Exceed it once and the whole bonus can be voided.
  2. Maximum win from bonus funds - often capped at 5x the bonus, no matter what you hit.
  3. Expiry - typically 7 to 30 days for the whole wagering requirement.
  4. Game weighting - the games you enjoy may contribute 10% or nothing.
  5. Sticky bonus - the bonus amount itself is never withdrawable, only winnings above it.
